Hamilton is the story of America’s Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington’s right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and was the new nations’ first Treasury Secretary. Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B, and Broadway music. Hamilton is the story of America then, told by America now. With book music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, directed by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and musical direction and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, Hamilton is based on Ron Chernow’s biography. A thoroughly inventive, wildly entertaining musical about the birth of our nation!

Evan Taylor, an 11-year-old orphan, believes in music like some believe in fairytales. In a cruel twist of fate, Evan’s mother, an accomplished classical cellist, and his father, the lead singer of a rock band, don’t even know he exists in this world. Even after so many years gone, Evan has not given up hope as he relentlessly searches for the parents he knows need him. Quickly discovering he too is a musical prodigy, Evan surrenders himself to the symphony of sounds and follows the music. In this inspiring love story, music is everywhere but will it lead Evan home?

Cost is $130 per person; includes main floor seating and lunch at the Meyer Ballroom (across the street from the Paramount) before the 1:30 pm performance.

“Why would anyone want to drive to Chicago from Rockford for an enjoyable downtown activity? Why fight the traffic? Remember once you arrive you must worry where to park. Is my car safe? Downtown parking is expensive. Sometimes getting to your destination might require a long walk! Why go through the pain, worry, and stress. We will get you right to your destination and pick you up when you’re finished at your destination. Our buses are extremely comfortable. Does it get any better than that?” Janet
